Heuristics Informatics - Cassandra Database Expert

Job Description : Key Responsibilities (Detailed) : - Install, configure, and monitor Cassandra clusters, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance. - Perform capacity planning and scaling of Cassandra infrastructure. - Manage and maintain Cassandra nodes, including upgrades and patching. - Perform routine database administration tasks, such as user management, security configuration, and backup/recovery. - Monitor database performance and identify potential bottlenecks. - Implement database security best practices to protect sensitive data. - Design and implement efficient data models for Cassandra, considering performance, scalability, and data access patterns. - Develop and maintain database schemas and tables. - Write and optimize CQL (Cassandra Query Language) scripts for data access and manipulation. - Tune query performance to ensure optimal response times. - Proactively identify and resolve database performance issues. - Implement performance tuning strategies to optimize database efficiency. - Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including performance problems, connectivity issues, and data corruption. - Provide timely support to development teams for database-related inquiries. - Work closely with development teams, architects, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide database expertise. - Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences. - Promote database best practices within the organization. - Contribute to the development of database standards and procedures. - Participate in Agile or iterative development processes, contributing to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and other Agile ceremonies. Skills required : - Database Administration and Database Design skills - Data Modelling and Analytical Skills - Experience with various databases - Strong understanding of database systems - Ability to perform database optimisations and troubleshooting - Experience with Cassandra, including installing configuring and monitoring a Cassandra cluster. - Experience with Cassandra data modelling and CQL scripting. - Ability to perform effectively in a team-oriented environment. - Ability to quickly learn new technologies and business functions. - Strong analytical skills to determine effective approaches to business solutions. - Understanding of database best practices and the ability to promote those best practices in the organisation. - Experience working in an Agile or iterative approach to delivery preferred. - Experience with Cassandra data modelling and CQL scripting. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field - Relevant certifications in database management - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills (ref:hirist.tech)
