Pump Technician – Cape Town North (Brackenfell)

Install, maintain, and repair a variety of pumps including centrifugal, submersible, diaphragm, and positive displacement types. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical faults in pumping and reticulation systems. Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on complex pump networks and associated piping. Replace mechanical seals, bearings, impellers, and perform system alignments. Perform full system installations and commissioning of water reticulation setups. Test and calibrate systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. Work from engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical manuals. Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Accurately document all service activities, inspections, and recommendations. Support and mentor junior technicians on-site where needed. Grade 12 / Matric Certificate. Recognised Trade Test Certificate (e.g., Fitter, Millwright, Mechanical Technician). Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in pump installation, repair, and maintenance. Proven experience with water reticulation systems in industrial, municipal, or commercial settings. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and fluid dynamics. Ability to read and interpret technical schematics, layout drawings, and P&IDs. Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to various client sites. Physically fit and able to work in challenging environments (e.g., confined spaces, heights, remote areas). Plumbing qualification or certification would be an added advantage.
