Job Description

Civil/Structure Supervisor • To oversee and the Civil and Structural aspects of solar energy plant construction. • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Civil Engineering, site supervision, and renewable energy infrastructure. • This role is responsible for ensuring that all earthworks, foundations, structural installations, and roads are constructed according to safety, quality, and projects specifications. Qualifications: • Diploma/ Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Construction management • 5 years of experience in Civil or structural supervision, preferably in solar or renewable energy projects • Experience in foundation design, concrete works, steel structures, and geotechnical assessments • Familiarity with ground-mount solar PV structural system (fixed -tilt and tracker system) • Strong Knowledge of construction methods, material, and standards (SANS, ISO,OSHA, etc) • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications • Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings • Experience managing teams in a fast-paced construction environment • Strong problem -solving, leadership, and communication skills Skills and Experience: • Experience in large-scale utility solar PV projects • Knowledge of soil testing, compaction, and drainage systems • Ability to work in remote locations and adapt to challenging work environments • Strong organizational and time-management skills Responsibilities: • Site Supervision: Oversee all civil and structural activities, including earthworks, foundation construction, access roads, drainage, fencing, and structural mounting systems for solar panels. • Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements (SANS, OSHA, etc.). • Health & Safety Compliance: Implement and enforce HSE regulations to ensure a safe working environment. • Team Leadership: Manage and coordinate civil/structural teams, including subcontractors and site workers, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget. • Project Monitoring: Track project progress, address technical issues, and liaise with project managers to resolve challenges. • Material & Equipment Management: Coordinate with procurement and logistics to ensure materials are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
