Notre-Dame du Grandchamp is a highly regarded private lycée and higher education institution located in the heart of Versailles. We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate History Teacher to join our team and contribute to the development of future-ready students. Role Overview We are looking for a dedicated and inspiring History Teacher to lead classes at the lycée level, including preparation for Baccalauréat examinations and higher education pathways. The successful candidate will demonstrate subject mastery, pedagogical innovation, and a genuine interest in supporting young people in their academic and personal growth. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver and assess high-quality History lessons to students aged 15–18 (Seconde, Première, and Terminale) Prepare students for national examinations (including Baccalauréat and, if applicable, international options such as OIB or A-Level equivalents) Develop engaging and inclusive lesson plans that connect historical knowledge with modern issues Foster a supportive and disciplined classroom environment aligned with the values of Notre-Dame du Grandchamp Contribute to extra-curricular projects and school events where applicable (e.g. historical visits, debates, or themed weeks) Maintain ongoing communication with parents and academic staff regarding student progress Participate actively in faculty meetings, training, and pedagogical development Requirements A minimum of 5 years' teaching experience at secondary or lycée level, ideally in France or in a French-speaking environment Degree in History or related subject (Master’s level preferred) Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. CAPES, PGCE, Agrégation, or international equivalent) Strong understanding of the French education system and Baccalauréat curriculum Fluency in French (native or near-native) is essential; English fluency is a strong plus Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate young people Must be willing to relocate to Versailles or live close to the lycée Location Requirement As part of the school’s commitment to community and consistency, candidates must live on campus or within close proximity to Notre-Dame du Grandchamp in Versailles.
