Is the role right for you? The role will suit someone with a strong analyst background, preferably 3 years or more as an analyst (e.g. trading analyst, senior trading analyst), preferably gained in the energy or wider utility market. Ideally you will offer knowledge of the energy sector to provide strategic direction to manage regulatory pressures, compliance and risks, wider geopolitical matters and ability to operate with internal and external stakeholders. You will work within commercial and risk teams (futures, pricing, forecasting) but also collaborate with other business functions e.g. sales, finance, SMT. Offer proven numeric and analytical skills e.g. complex models, assessing large data sets, identify and pre-empt trends and market forces and the mindset and confidence to comprehend the financial swing between commercial opportunity and risk of proposed pricing models. Offer agility and adaptability to ever changing market forces and generate competitor insights, to identify and mitigate risk and help to optimise pricing strategies that support company growth. Experience of analysing trends, produce reports and make important strategic recommendations, evaluate complex tenders and recommend optimal pricing strategies. In terms of systems and tools, experience of excel is essential (ideally advanced), VBA (desirable) and any further insight in Power BI, Python is very advantageous.
