Position Overview : As a Lead SDET, you will be responsible for leading the automation efforts, focusing primarily on API testing using Python and Robot Framework. You will design, develop, and execute automated test scripts, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our software systems. A unique aspect of this role is the application of playwriting skills to create engaging and comprehensive test scenarios, enhancing the overall testing process. Key Responsibilities : - Lead the design, development, and execution of automated API tests using Python and Robot Framework. - Develop and maintain robust and scalable automation frameworks. - Establish and enforce best practices for API test automation. - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior automation engineers. - Utilize Robot Framework to create and maintain automated test suites. - Develop custom libraries and keywords to extend Robot Framework's capabilities. - Integrate Robot Framework with CI/CD pipelines. - Develop and maintain Python scripts for API test automation and related tasks. - Utilize Python libraries for API testing (Requests, Pytest). - Troubleshoot and debug Python scripts to resolve issues. - Perform comprehensive API testing, including functional, performance, and security testing. - Validate API contracts and ensure data integrity. - Utilize tools like Postman or similar for initial testing and validation. - Apply playwriting skills to create engaging and comprehensive test scenarios. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex business requirements into effective and imaginative test cases. - Enhance communication and documentation of testing processes using playwriting techniques. - Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on testing goals. - Participate in design and code reviews to maintain code quality and adherence to standards. - Communicate testing progress, issues, and risks effectively. - Work within an agile environment. - Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI). - Ensure continuous feedback and rapid identification of issues. Required Skills and Qualifications : Education : - Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience : - 7 years of experience in software test automation. - 5 years of relevant experience in API automation. - Proven experience in leading automation teams. Technical Skills : - Expertise in API automation using Python and Robot Framework. - Strong proficiency in Python scripting. - Experience with API testing tools and libraries (Postman, Requests, Pytest). - Solid understanding of RESTful and SOAP APIs. - Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI). - Familiarity with version control systems (Git). - Experience with test management tools.
