L3 VMware Engineer - Vsphere/vCenter/Horizon

About the Job : We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated VMware VCP Certified Professional with 6-8 years of experience to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the management, maintenance, and support of our critical VMware infrastructure. You will leverage your deep expertise in VMware technologies to ensure the stability, performance, and security of our virtualized environment. You will serve as a subject matter expert, providing L3 technical support, leading incident management, and guiding the team on best practices for VMware deployments. Key Responsibilities : VMware Infrastructure Management : - Design, implement, and manage VMware infrastructure, including vSphere, vCenter, Horizon, and ESXi. - Perform regular health checks and performance monitoring of the VMware environment. - Maintain accurate VMware inventory, licenses, and renewals. - Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices. Technical Support & Troubleshooting : - Provide Level 3 technical support for VMware products, including VMware Workspace ONE and Virtual Desktop Interface (VDI). - Troubleshoot complex configuration issues and resolve incidents efficiently. - Lead incident management, including root cause analysis (RCA) and problem resolution. - Proactively identify and resolve potential issues to minimize downtime. Configuration & Deployment : - Guide the team on configuring High Availability (HA), Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), vMotion, Physical to Virtual (P2V)/Virtual to Virtual (V2V) migrations, Templates, Clones, Snapshots, and Host/Cluster setups. - Implement VMware updates, upgrades, and releases following best practices and change management procedures. - Document all changes and configurations. Virtualization & Storage : - Demonstrate a solid understanding of storage and virtualization concepts. - Collaborate with storage teams to ensure optimal performance and availability of virtualized resources. Documentation & Reporting : - Maintain comprehensive documentation of the VMware environment, including configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides. - Provide regular reports on system performance, capacity, and availability. Skills & Qualifications : Required : - VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification is mandatory. - 6-8 years of hands-on experience in managing VMware environments. - Strong expertise in VMware vSphere, vCenter, and Horizon. - Proven experience in troubleshooting complex VMware issues. - Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal. - Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Strong understanding of networking concepts related to Vmware. Preferred : - Experience with VMware Workspace ONE and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). - Basic knowledge of storage technologies (SAN, NAS). - Knowledge of statistical methods for performance analysis. - Project management experience. - Experience with scripting languages (PowerCLI, Python) for automation. - Experience with cloud based Vmware solutions.
