MS Dynamics 365 Engineer - System Configuration & Data Migration

TITLE : MS Dynamics 365 Engineer Location : Harrisburg, PA (Central PA candidates preferred due to onsite requirement) Position Type : Remote (Onsite travel required for key milestones - kickoff, training, go-live, etc.) Job Overview : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MS Dynamics 365 Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the successful implementation, configuration, and support of Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions, with a strong emphasis on system configuration, data migration, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in configuring D365 environments, developing user training materials, UAT scripts, and financial reports, and guiding clients through data transformation and migration. Experience with Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) principles and reporting is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities : - Configure Microsoft Dynamics 365 environments based on functional design documents. - This includes, but is not limited to, setting up Chart of Accounts, defining Financial Dimensions, configuring beginning balances, and developing financial reports. - Develop essential project deliverables, including user training materials, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scripts, and financial reports, to support system implementation and user adoption. - Assist in data transformation and migration to D365, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with relevant standards. - Provide ad hoc user training and support throughout all project phases, from initial setup to go-live, to ensure smooth system deployment and user proficiency. - Collaborate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, project managers, and other team members, to ensure alignment with business requirements, project goals, and industry standards. - Analyze existing D365 configurations and processes to identify areas for improvement and optimization. - Implement solutions to enhance system performance, efficiency, and usability. - Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation related to D365 configurations, customizations, and processes. - Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to Dynamics 365, working closely with Microsoft support and other resources as needed. - Stay up-to-date with the latest Dynamics 365 features, updates, and best practices. - Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge. Required Skills & Qualifications : Education : Master's degree in accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field. Dynamics 365 Expertise : - Proven hands-on experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 system configuration, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Fixed Assets. - Solid understanding of data migration principles and methodologies. - Experience in developing and generating financial reports using D365 reporting tools (e.g, SSRS, Power BI). - Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret functional design documents, analyze complex business requirements, and develop effective training materials and UAT scripts. - Accounting Knowledge : Experience with fundamental accounting principles. - GASB Experience : Experience with Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) principles and reporting is highly preferred. - Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise training and support to end users with varying levels of technical proficiency. - Remote Work and Travel : Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, with the flexibility to travel occasionally for key project milestones such as kickoff meetings, training sessions, and go-live support. - Software Development Lifecycle : Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC). - Testing Methodologies : Knowledge of testing methodologies. Preferred Qualifications : - Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications. - Experience with data migration tools (Data Management Framework). - Proficiency in SQL. - Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate). - Project management skills (ref:hirist.tech)
