Software Engineering Manager (Collateral IT) (Investment Banking Tech) Miejsce pracy: Kraków Technologies we use Expected Java About the project Global Banking & Markets (GBM) is the “investment bank” for HSBC. Our businesses generate millions of transactions across a range of financial markets. Our IT teams design and develop modern systems covering all aspects - trading in the markets, sales and customer tools, handling transactions and building financial and regulatory reporting. As a Software Engineering Manager you will lead the Krakow-based team of 3 teams. Those teams are responsible for the full delivery cycle and support of Collateral Management Platform. Local team collaborates closely with teams in London and Pune. The Collateral Platform is critical for the bank from the regulatory standpoint. It allows the Collateral Operations Team to perform the daily margining functions and managing risk across thousands of HSBC clients globally and to provide data & analytics to optimize its usage. Our teams are currently operating in microservices environment based on Java and Spring Cloud on both on-premise and GCP environments. The microservices interact with central platform running a distributed cache using Oracle Coherence with an underlying Oracle and PostgreSQL databases. The user interface is being built with Angular and the platform integrates with other systems in & outside the Bank using a combination of MQ, File, Web Service and REST interfaces. Your responsibilities Oversee and manage the development team in Krakow. Lead adoption of DevOps and Agile principles and culture. Lead hiring initiatives. Build and develop a high performing team for Collateral in Krakow. Leadership role in architectural and technical design decisions for the platform globally. Work with multiple teams globally and contribute individually. Implement principles and culture for developers to design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code. Lead cloud transition projects. Continually improve quality and velocity for the teams. Strive for innovation. Implement and oversee best security and compliance practices. Our requirements Java development experience. Experience in leading medium to large development teams. Practical experience in cloud platforms (GCP would be a plus). Self-motivated and willing to learn new technologies and business domain. 4 years working in an Agile and/or DevOps team. Excellent communication skills. Proven track record of working on significant projects from conception to completion. Should be able to provide innovative solutions to complex business problems.
