Job Title: Technical Buyer Location: City of Cape Town, Cape Town, Woodstock Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Primary Industry: Logistics, Procurement, Distribution and Supply Chain Secondary Industry: Energy, Oil and Gas, Engineering Job Duties: Receive and analyze enquiries received from clients, including specification matching. Conduct strategic sourcing of suppliers and products, both locally and internationally, through our database, market research, and the Internet. Obtain all necessary information, including logistical requirements, to provide clients with accurate quotations utilizing margins and foreign exchange conversion. Prepare commercial proposals for clients. Follow up on quotations to secure orders, manage all queries, and negotiate with clients. Place and administer orders, liaising with related departments as required for end-to-end delivery, including Logistics, Warehouse, Finance, and other administrative functions. Engage in regular commercial activities to maintain existing relationships and establish new ones within the industry; local and international travel may be required for supplier and client visits. Report on profitability per job and for the department, along with fulfilling other commercial reporting requirements. Required Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous (E.g. BCom, Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics,etc.) 5 years' experience in similar industry (Agriculture / Energy / Mining / Construction) Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role Strong technical knowledge and understanding of technical specifications Competencies: Proficient in English speaking and writing; proficiency in French or Portuguese is highly advantageous Advanced negotiation skills. Ability to multitask and strong organizational skills. Experience in international sourcing. Commercial aexposure Adaptability and flexibility. Problem-solving abilities and a solution-driven mindset. Knowledge and Skills: Exposure and understanding into energy or oil and gas industries. Understanding of supply chain management principles Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Working Conditions: The work is primarily office-based, with standard working hours. There will howver be occasional domestic & international travelling
