The Opportunity: An exciting opportunity exists in our global Knowledge and Expertise (K&E) function for a Strategic Intelligence specialist to grow the strategic intelligence service in the EMEA region to provide insightful and actionable intelligence to deliver on Ashurst's strategy and drive business development opportunities. K&E's work and responsibilities go to the heart of Ashurst's 2027 strategy. Our specialists across the firm empower our legal teams with insights, skills and tools so that they can deliver exceptional client service across the globe. They: equip our practice areas with high-quality research and thought leadership, and develop and maintain our legal knowledge and information resources; enable our lawyers to achieve practice excellence through legal learning programmes and mentoring; enhance our legal teams' work and client delivery by implementing next-generation tools and technologies, and by driving consistency in our legal documents and processes. This is an important new role to grow our strategic intelligence service - a vital pillar in Ashurst's 2027 strategy and the Knowledge & Expertise strategy. The role would suit a highly motivated senior researcher with strong analytical skills who is seeking a growth opportunity. You will lead this service offering in the EMEA region, working closely with the global Strategic Intelligence Manager (located in APAC) to expand and enhance the team's strategic intelligence research capabilities. This includes engaging with legal practices and business development teams to integrate intelligence into decision making and promoting the value of client and industry research across the firm. About you: The successful candidate will have: At least five years of business research and analysis experience in a professional services environment. Advanced research skills in business research, utilising corporate databases such as S&P Capital IQ/ Capital IQ Pro, ION Analytics, Bloomberg, Pitchbook, or GlobalData, with experience applying qualitative and quantitative methods to commercial research. Advanced analytical skills to synthesise information and data from various sources to generate actionable insights. Strong problem-solving ability with critical, reflective, and creative thinking to uncover insights and deliver innovative solutions that address business challenges. Proven experience in developing trusted advisor relationships with senior business leaders, demonstrating credibility and an understanding of their strategic objectives.
