Site Engineer Scotland (with travel across UK) Up to £45,000 Company Van Fuel Card Benefits The Opportunity A leading construction contractor is seeking a Site Engineer to support ongoing growth across multiple nationwide projects. This role offers the chance to be part of complex builds from initial groundwork through to final handover, working across both structural steel and full turnkey developments. Ideal for an experienced Engineer with strong setting out and surveying skills, this position provides a mix of technical challenge, site responsibility, and career development. The Role As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the correct alignment and levels of structural steel installations, as well as overseeing key setting out and surveying duties across various project phases. You will contribute to both steel-focused and broader construction works, managing your workload across multiple live sites. Key Responsibilities: Conduct bolt, cast-in plate, and structural steel as-built surveys Ensure correct plumb and line of steelwork within required tolerances Carry out setting out for roads, drainage, and infrastructure elements Complete TOPO surveys and deliver accurate as-built records in AutoCAD Use robotic total stations for surveying and layout (experience with Leica or Trimble preferred) Perform manual tasks including bolt setting, steel positioning, and alignment adjustments Manage workload independently across multiple projects and locations Collaborate with on-site teams during all construction stages to ensure delivery to specification About You: Minimum 3 years’ experience in a site engineering or setting out role Proficient with total stations and site surveying (robotic experience advantageous) Competent in AutoCAD for producing as-built documentation Comfortable with hands-on site activity and physical tasks when required Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills Full UK driving licence and valid CSCS card essential Willingness to travel and stay away from home depending on project location What We Offer: Competitive salary up to £45,000 Company van and fuel card Exposure to a wide variety of projects across the UK Opportunities for growth within a dynamic and supportive team Role autonomy and variety, working across multiple sectors and project types
