Senior Quantity Surveyor Glasgow £55,000 - £70,000 Benefits The Opportunity Our client is looking for a highly motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional with a background in rail or civil engineering to take on a key role within a leading infrastructure contractor. This role will give you the opportunity to grow and develop your career with the aim of becoming a Commercial Manager within the business. The Role As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in managing the commercial aspects of multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Working within a structured framework, you will be responsible for cost control, procurement, and contract administration, while also leading and mentoring junior team members. Key Responsibilities: Lead the commercial management of projects within the rail and civil engineering sectors. Administer and manage contracts in accordance with NEC contract principles. Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure contractual obligations are met. Oversee cost planning, forecasting, and reporting to ensure financial control. Manage subcontractor accounts, procurement, and payments. Utilise framework agreements to drive efficiency and value for money. Work with client and contractor portals to ensure seamless project communication. Lead and mentor junior commercial team members, fostering a culture of excellence. About You: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a major contractor environment. Strong background in rail or civil engineering projects. Comprehensive knowledge of NEC contracts and framework agreements. Ability to manage and develop people, providing leadership to a team. Proficiency in working with portals and digital contract management tools. Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
