TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ER/Trauma RN in Yuma, Arizona, 85364 About The Position Job Title: Emergency Room RN Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Emergency Duration: Full-time Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Emergency Room or ICU Critical Care License: RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS; TNCC preferred Must-Have: Experience in Trauma Level I or II within the last two years Description: This facility is seeking experienced Emergency Room RNs for their night shift team. The Emergency unit is a Level 3 trauma center, STEMI, and stroke receiving, with transfers for stroke interventions if required. Candidates must possess at least two years of emergency room experience, specifically with Trauma Level I and II, accumulated over the past two to three years. The emergency department has 52 beds with 4 dedicated trauma bays and 6 fast track beds. The facility treats an average of 200 patients per day with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5 for medical patients and 1:6 for fast track cases. Security is available in-house 24/7, with a dedicated office right by the emergency department lobby. Common cases include all types of emergency needs, including gunshot wounds and stabbings. RNs are expected to manage ICU drips for holding patients, with ICU staff available to assist when possible. The department is staffed with varied shifts for MDs and Mid-Levels, including board-certified pediatricians. Although there is no charge nurse, the House Supervisor can assist if needed. Supporting staff includes ED techs with over two years of experience handling EKGs, vitals, blood draws, and splints. PCAs with less than two years of experience perform the same duties. Respiratory therapists are assigned to the ER 24/7, managing ABGs, nebulizer treatments, vents, and CPAP. RNs are responsible for reading telemetry strips, with support available from monitor techs. The ER has dedicated CT and X-ray facilities, along with a transport team. RNs accompany critical patients during transfers. ED techs draw labs, and RNs may draw from IV starts if necessary. Shift schedules vary with start times at 7, 10, 11, 12, 1, and 3, following a modified self-scheduling system. Weekend requirements include four weekend shifts every four weeks, with holiday requirements typically covering two of five major holidays. Floating is shared with a nearby freestanding ER, usually scheduled ahead of time and infrequently last-minute. Scrub color is navy blue. New hires undergo orientation, including a New Employee Orientation, one day of clinical/EPIC training, and one day on the floor. Hiring incentives are available, including a sign-on bonus and expanded relocation assistance. Temporary housing is available for qualifying out-of-area hires. Shift differentials apply for night and weekend shifts.
