Job Description For one of our mills (Parma / Altamura / Castelplanio / Ferrara / Galliate), we are now looking for a Mills Sr Technologist to join our Central Supply Chain. As a key player in the team, the individual will report solid to the Purchasing Director Durum Wheat Mills and dotted to the Tech Dev Pasta & Milling Process & Digitalization Director. Job Purpose: The role will be accountable for: In compliance with Quality & Safety Standards, ensuring the constant maintenance of finished product standard compliance. Managing and ensuring continuous process optimization in order to improve the finished product quality and the production line efficiency. Proposing performance improvement projects through investments or changes in process management. Key Accountabilities: Identify areas for improvement of the production process in order to optimize performance and product quality and create technological standards in synergy with R&D, Q&T Manager, Technical Area Manager, CI, Technical Development. Support the definition and the delivery of Design To Value and PCM plans related to the Milling area. Ensure the industrial delivery of new/innovative milling processes developed by the team and by Group RDQ. Ensure the execution of an adequate diagnostic path for the most recurrent deviations concerning technological aspects, quality and performances. Analyze the product block notes for quality criticalities attributable to technology, verifying the process to analyze the causes in order to minimize product blocks through the management of interfunctional working groups. Spread the culture of technological processes through the involvement and training of mill staff in dedicated activities (sharing information and monitoring KPIs). Intercept drifts and/or anomalies resulting from MMPP that are already in production, define root cause analysis and collaborate with other reference functions to bring the condition back to standard. Supervision and maintenance of the technology sheets. Periodic checks of the production process through the use of appropriate instrumentation (data logger, online NIR, file monitoring, granulometry, etc.). Control, management and testing of new sections or revamping of existing ones. Operational checks and controls on standard process parameters. Support and guide R&D, Industrialization, Continuous Improvement for technological tests. Coordinate through operating procedures the restart of mills after maintenance stops in collaboration with Technical Area. Assess the capacities and performances of the different mills. Participate in the design phases of new projects or improvement of existing plants by following and guiding the study phases with other functions, and progressively assuming responsibility for process management. Collaborate actively with Purchasing (Durum Wheat team). Desired Skills and Background: Degree in Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering and other similar studies. At least 3-5 years of work experience, previous experience / knowledge of the Milling / Cereal sector will be considered as a plus. Fluent in Italian and English (both written and spoken). Collaborative approach and team orientation, good relational and interpersonal skills: strong ability to work in inter functional teams, good teambuilding skills. Multitasking & multidisciplinary approach, logical mindset, lean approach. Autonomy, proactivity and engagement. Project Management Skills. Analytical Skills. Background / Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (nice to have), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (nice to have). Previous experience with new production line design, development and final commissioning (mandatory). Willing to travel (up to 70%). We Offer: First-hand experience working on live projects.
