Job Description Job Description Position summary : The Vice President of Sales Candidate is a proven leader with a track record of exceptional performance, that can comprehensively manage and develop all aspects of the company’s sales and new business development. The position is based in the World-Renowned Hunts Point Cooperative Food Market, and the successful candidate is expected to execute at an optimum level, to achieve annually forecasted revenue and profit targets in accordance with the organization’s business plan. Responsibilities include but are not limited to attaining the annual departmental revenue/ profit and loss [P&L] targets, motivation, recruitment, field training & business development with managers, sales reps, brokers, agents and key account personnel. Professionals should be adept at conducting regular performance evaluations and personnel reviews. The Sales VP will work closely with HR, Finance, Marketing/Procurement and Operations to develop and execute programming, manage vendor and customer relations and maximize customer service efforts. Must be able to supervise effectively and consistently. · EDUCATION : Bachelor’s Degree or higher required. · EXPERIENCE: o 10 years of food industry, FMCG and / or distribution related sales experience required. o 5 years sales supervisory experience or related / equivalent experience, education, and/or training required. o Experience in perishables, meat / protein sales highly preferred refrigerated warehousing environs o Experience in sales to various distribution channels highly preferred. o Track record of developing managers and high performance o Solid understanding and experience in product merchandising, sampling and driving markets o Technical Literacy/ CRM/ Microsoft Office Suite/ Sales Analytics · LANGUAGE & COMMUNICATIONS ABILITY : Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Must be able to write concise, impactful memos, reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Must effectively present information orally/ public speaking. Multilingual language ability a plus . · MATH ABILITY : Must be able to work with mathematical concepts such as statistical probability, gross profit, forecasting and analytics. Must be able to apply concepts such as percentages, ratios, fractions, and proportions to practical situations relative to protein and food sales · REASONING ABILITY : Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and/or schedule form.
