Contract Specialist

Job Posting: Contracts Specialist (Onsite) Location: Farmingdale, NY We're searching for a motivated and detail-oriented Contracts Specialist to join our growing team. This position reports directly to the Program Manager of Bids & Proposals and is based on-site. What you'll need to qualify for this role: A bachelor’s degree or 5 years of relevant professional experience in areas such as engineering, business development, finance, economics, customer relations, or account management Strong skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Visio, CRM) Prior exposure to government or commercial proposal processes, including reviewing and interpreting RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs Working knowledge of U.S. Government procurement, including DCMA procedures and Government Source Inspection (GSI) Hands-on experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFAR) and U.S. Export Compliance rules Additional qualifications such as advanced degrees or certifications (CPCM™, CFCM™, CCCM™) are desirable Key responsibilities you'll take on as a Contracts Specialist: Oversee the end-to-end contract process—from initial bid evaluation to final award Analyze and qualify government and commercial solicitations based on capabilities, past performance, and strategic fit Build an understanding of company products, manufacturing timelines, compliance requirements, and cost structures Draft and submit competitive responses to solicitations, including pricing and proposal documentation Navigate U.S. Government acquisition rules and requirements, including FARS/DFARS, export regulations, FATs, and PLTs Lead contract discussions and negotiations, collaborating with internal stakeholders and legal as needed Prepare documentation in support of Truth in Negotiation Act (TINA) requirements File and manage protests related to contract solicitations and awards Conduct pricing and market research to assess competitive positioning Contribute to proposal content creation, editing, and compliance review in CRM tools Identify and lead improvements in the bidding and proposal process Partner with the sales team to strategize on new business opportunities Drive the development and submission of Source Approval Requests (SARs), coordinating inputs across departments Ensure SAR submissions meet applicable U.S. Government requirements Uphold internal contracting procedures and ensure adherence to regulatory and corporate standards Provide contract lifecycle support, including ongoing communication with customers to improve win rates Draft, review, and finalize a variety of agreements (e.g., NDAs, LTAs, novations, and service contracts) Incorporate key contract terms into agreements with suppliers Work directly with DCMA and GSI representatives to address compliance or product acceptance issues
