Job Description

Nelson Pope is seeking a qualified Human Resources (HR) Director/Associate to work in our Melville, New York office for an immediate start. The Human Resources Director/Associate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR functions within Nelson Pope including: ensuring compliance with labor laws fostering a positive workplace culture developing strategies to attract, retain, and develop employees This role involves managing employee relations, performance management, training, benefits administration, and HR policies. Responsibilities/Top Skills/Qualifications: Oversee the hiring onboarding process. Address employee concerns and mediate workplace conflicts. Foster a positive and inclusive work environment. Develop employee engagement initiatives to improve satisfaction and retention. Implement performance appraisal systems. Provide guidance on career development and succession planning. Design and oversee training and development programs. Respond to questions on payroll, employee benefits, and incentives. Ensure adherence to labor laws and workplace regulations. Maintain employee records and ensure confidentiality. Develop and update HR policies in line with company goals and legal requirements. Align HR initiatives with business objectives. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Proven experience as an HR Manager or in a senior HR role. Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism. Proficiency in HR software and data management tools.
